Inaugurated in 2009, the Dubai Fountain was developed by Emaar Properties as part of the iconic Downtown Dubai complex. Designed by the creators of the Bellagio Fountain in Las Vegas—WET Design—the Dubai Fountain was envisioned as a centerpiece attraction that would complement the grandeur of the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall. It cost an estimated USD 218 million and features over 6,600 lights, 25 color projectors, and high-pressure water jets capable of shooting water up to 500 feet into the air. Its location in Burj Lake, which spans 30 acres, makes it one of the largest musical fountains in the world.

Since its debut, the Dubai Fountain has captivated millions of visitors annually with its beautifully synchronized performances. The choreography features a blend of local and international music—from Arabic classics to Bollywood songs and operatic arias—making it a globally inclusive experience. Over time, additional features like the floating boardwalk and traditional boat rides have been introduced to enhance the visitor experience. The fountain also plays a key role during national celebrations like UAE National Day and New Year’s Eve, drawing massive crowds. More than just a tourist attraction, the Dubai Fountain has become a cultural icon and a favorite spot for families, couples, and photographers.
